The SADC Gender Monitor is produced by SARDC for the SADC Gender Unit to track implementation of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, and has been tracking progress toward gender equality in southern Africa since the Fourth World Women Conference in Beijing in 1995.

Beyond Inequalities 2008: Women in Southern Africa provides an analysis on the status of women and the various challenges, limitations and opportunities encountered in accelerating the pace to achieve gender equality in SADC, through identifying the roles of men and women and their relationship to economic, political and social resources to achieve the highest level of human development.

SADC Gender Monitor 2006 provides an assessment of the progress, challenges and way forward for the SADC region towards meeting its obligations on achieving gender equality and equity. This edition updates those published in 1999 and 2001.
