Beyond Inequalities 1998 – Women in Zambia

This gender profile is a follow-up to the 1994 Non-Governmental Organization Coordinating Committee (NGOCC) report on the situation of women in Zambia. The profile looks at gender gaps in all sectors and considers priorities for action. It gives a situational analysis of the programmes and policies of government, non-governmental organizations, donor and development agencies, community based organizations and other stakeholders initiatives in advancing the gender agenda. The report highlights the achievements and commitments in Zambia in the context of the Beijing Platform for Action as well as priorities for future action. The current situation with regards to women and education, power sharing and decision making, conflict, poverty and economic empowerment amongst other are highlighted in the publication.
